About PAUL
I have been working professionally in graphic design for more than ten years, beginning at WICS in Springfield, Illinois in 2011 near where I went to college at the University of Illinois. I have been in my current position as a graphic designer in national news with Scripps News since March, 2022.
My professional career in graphic design began on a whim while working at WICS. At the time, I ran sound boards and manned cameras in the operations department. By this time, I had been interested in graphic design as a hobby, with occasional freelance work, for ten years. When a graphic design position opened up at my station, I pulled an all-nighter to learn how to use video and motion graphics editing software to put together a demo that got me the job.
Although the motion graphic field was foreign to me initially, I quickly realized it suited my interests well. I learned so quickly in fact that one of the first major projects I worked on, “A Joe For All Seasons,” a stop motion animated piece promoting the station’s weather team, won a Telly award. In the time that I have honed my skills working in broadcast television, I always wondered where else these talents could take me. By 2014, those skills brought me here to Fresno with a change of scenery to bring new challenges.
I have truly loved my time here in Fresno and have thrived in my career. With nearly a decade of professional graphic work under my belt, I’m still open for new opportunities, whether those are full-time or freelance. I’ve created this website to showcase my abilities and my range. I can do everything from logo design to 3D motion graphics. Contact me today with any graphic design inquiries.
